Quote
I found this quote last month when we were at the Columbus Art Museum. They had a photography exhibit (perfect, right?!) and this quote was on their wall. Secretly I took a snap of it on my phone so I would be sure to remember it!
I just love it!!

Photo Challenge Day 19
Photo Challenge Day 17
Day 17 is What Makes You Happy.
Yes, I'm skipping around. Since I'm so behind(again) I figured it wouldn't hurt!!

The thing that makes me happiest is Harry Potter! I'm not afraid to say that I am 150% OBsessed!! I watch the movies, read the books and play the video games! Someday M will -- WILL -- be taking me to the theme park in Orlando as well as the set tour in England!! :)

Day 11 is My Favorite Color.
Since my favorite color changes from week to week I really wasn't sure what to do, until I saw my daffodils starting to bud outside! This week my favorite color is GREEN!!

E's favorite color is blue! We thought about a lot of things and finally I suggested Grandpa&Grandma's house!! PERFECT!!

Photo Challenge Day 10
Day 10 is A Door.
Thinking about where to find a cool door to photograph is hard!! Especially in a town that I grew up in. I know what i WANT a door to look like.. but finding said doow is hard to do! E and I saw my Dad a couple times while searching these out and he gave us a couple of good ideas (see my second image for Dad's idea!)
We ended up with some good stuff!

Photo Challenge Day 5
Day 5 is sunset. I tried to get a sunset, but the clouds were in the way... so I actually just got another cloud shot. So, right now I'm going to cheat and post a sunset picture I took a year ago and keep trying for the real thing in the present.

This pictures if from Cannon Beach, Oregon. We went last May for a week vacation and it was hands down the best vacation I've had!

Photo Challenge Day 4
okay okay,... I'm already behind a day. but honestly, who is surprised?
Day 4 is Texture! I love textures, I use them all the time when I am designing at the studio. So, if I'd had the time I pry could have taken hours to photograph all sorts of textures. Since I didn't... you only have to look at one of my pictures today! ;)

Matt's ties have a ton of textures all in one spot!

This one is compliments of my own E.Russ. He took this the other night when we were out doing our 'cloud' shoot!

Photo Challenge Day 3
Day 3 - Breakfast
Good morning all! Today's picture is of breakfast, my favorite of all the meals! I was told last night that my hubby would pry get up and make me breakfast... however that turned into me making my own AND making him coffee to take to work.

Egg on Toast, awesome black pepper bacon, a banana and milk!

Photo Challenge Day 2
Day 2--Clouds
Today started out pretty rough. Here in Knoxville it was actually snowing this morning, and gloomy and gray. The snow flakes got bigger before lunch and I was sure we'd just have a heck of a gloomy day on our hands!
But then on the way home the sky was blue and the sun was bright! We ended up with some clouds after all!

and this is my little monster. I gave him a camera to take pictures too.... I haven't looked yet but I'm almost positive there are pictures of grass that he took.

The Photo Challenge 2012
As some of you remember, I had posted on FB about a month a go a 30 day photo challenge that I wanted to do. To me extreme pleasure a handfull of you actually wanted to play with me!!
I've decided that this week is the week that I'm going to start, however, I have modified a couple of the lists I've found and spliced them together to make a super cool 30 day photo challenge for us!
Since I am trying to give up some of my time on fb for Lent(crazy right?) I'm going to be posting all of my images here for now, and probably just linking it a few times via fb.
For this challenge I will be using these 2 cameras.

Trust me, the only reason I have access to a big giant camera like that one is because my boss buys them! :)
However, the camera doesn't make the photographer it can only help the artist. So use your own camera that you are comfortable with and you'll end up with great stuff!
Make yourself a photo album on fb, or on your own blog(just be sure to link it so we can all see it!!) to share your challenge photos! And don't worry if you don't get one image each day. I know life gets busy and if you fall behind a day no worries! Besides, I'll pry be the first one to fall behind anyways....
SO, are you ready!? This is going to be FUN!!!!

Happy Shooting!!

"" Is the laughter keeps us coming back for more ""
doing: album designing and retouching.
feeling: crappy
listening to: Dave Matthews Band radio

ssooo its been awhile. I sort of got out of the blogging game for awhile. not that i think that tons of people are excited to read my blog every week... far from it i'm sure! if you are reading this i'm sure you were just bored and saw i posted something new! its more for me to get some of my thoughts out there or in order in my head.
its 2012 now. when did that happen?
i just turned 29, my baby boy just turned 5 and i just celebrated my 8 year anniversary with my husband. my oldest niece is going into HIGH SCHOOL next year... which means that M and i have been together for 14 years. (we started dating when Em was just about 6 months old.) my baby brother is turning 24 in about a week and i've been at my job for almost 8 years.
with all these numbers and milestones you have to wonder how this all happened, when did my life get so full? everything i listed up there is something that is a joy to me(well... being 29 might be iffy.) and something that defines me and my life.
blessed is the word i would use.
sometimes it takes awhile to actually see what is a blessing and why. and for me, in the last couple years, its taken me a little longer to realize that however bad i think my life might be at the moment, there are about 20 things that make it better than any other day!
its no secret that we've been on a roller coaster ride the last couple years. 2010 in particular is a year i'll never put on my list as top 10 great years. it WILL be on my shittiest years ever list.
as of August 2011 M and i have decided that we want to give it one more try. we are going to try for the second child that we've always dreamed about. now that E is 5(and MUCH older than i wanted him to be when we had a second baby), i can see the plus side of having only one child. for one, we are totally out of diapers! thats like money in the bank right there! he's self sufficient now. he can do most things on his own, or will try to do them anyways. he's going to start school next year which means money saved on daycare. (thats my hubby talking there.)
besides the fact that i've always wanted 2 kids, E wants a baby brother or sister. or as of recently he'd be okay with both or even three... whatev!
i feel like its almost a dis-service to him to not try once more to give him a playmate. i know he will make an amazing big brother! he loves babies, any baby that we see! and he just dotes on the younger kids at daycare.
just that plus makes it okay to have to go through the diapers and the daycare all over again. (i know my sitters won't be sad if we bring them another baby!)
in spite all of that back and forth. in my heart i know i need another baby to love. its always been "the plan" and its just hard to picture our lives without a second one!
and so here we are. one more try for the sake of our dream. and if, heaven forbid, it doesn't work out for some reason it will be the 3 of us and we will make E the happiest little boy ever. and spoil him to no end. lets be real here, we all know we won't be able to help ourselves!
other than that decision by us our 2011 has been uneventful in an eventful way. we just keep moving forward, working hard and getting ourselves under control. we are less than a year to being our of our short term debt. which is a crap term... short term debt that takes years to get out from under! blah! BUT our new saying is that soon we'll be "Oprah Rich!" thats not totally true, but we will have some more cash flow which will be amazing for us!
E is amazing us more than ever this year in pre-school. he can now spell some words and read just a little. his first word he learned to spell was CAT. not because of the animal, but because of the machinery. when he writes it he draws a triangle under the A. because "Mommy, thats how its spelled" i've been told!

his teacher has told us that he's all but ready for Kindergarten next year! which makes us happy!
so we are just trucking along, ready to go head long into the new year! i hope you have all had a year to remember and that you will work to make this one even better than the last!
Happy New Year!!
