Nationals is finally over. it takes about a full week to get everyone here in town, and Sunday morning by 9:30 everyone is gone! hard to believe since everyone pry stays up until 2 or 3 am the night before!
we had a camper in our yard this year. my friend Justin from long ago (we actually met at the races in high school!) him and his parents and uncle stayed on our little cement slab. they were a blast! they brought a little pool and set it up. it was really nice to cool off in after a hot afternoon! and it was the "spa" after the races - clothing optional, no pointing and laughing and flash photography not recommended. we didn't get to try that one out, but i hear it was open all night!
the week was a bit of a whirlwind, but good all the same! we got to eat some of the good food from the stands. walk around... and also stay away from.. all the extra people! There was plenty of drunkenness and grilling, the weather was wonderful and the races were exciting! we had our party night on friday. we played beer pong until late. the races let out and everyone else went under the grandstands and matt and i went to bed. well... matt had been there for awhile at that point, but i went cause i was tired!
now, back to reality.
i'm hoping to talk matt into going to the State Fair one night this week. since you get in half price after 5 i figured that would benifit us! and i think that i'll be really heartbroken if i don't get to go this year! Nationals food just wasn't up to par as it has been in the past and this couple weeks of great food is what i really look forward to!! so hopefully we'll get to do that, plus Ethan will love the fair even more this year! animals and tractors are his dream!
back in the reality thing-i have laundry to do. *sigh*
one exciting thing. matt woke me up at 12:30 last night because he kept hearing sirins and seeing lights. we went outside and a house down the street from us was totally engulfed in flames! it was SO wild! there were police and fire trucks everywhere! we went back to sleep but i think they had just started getting water on it when we went to look. the house is a complete loss too. you can see inside and everything is just black! they said on the news that there was an older man pulled out before the fire fighters got there, but other than that i dont think there was anyone else in the house. thats a good thing.
okay, laundry for real!!!

Tracy, I love your blog! :) You have such a beautiful family... and a busy life to keep up with! I have a blog too if you want to check it out. I started blogging a couple months after Christopher was born, so mine is very much a way for me to keep our friends and family updated with our day-to-days. I'll send you an invite if you're interested. :)
Take care, and thanks for the recent comment on my facebook, by the way. :)
Thanks Shelene!
I would love an invite to your blog! It makes me look like a looser that I only read Shannon's!! I need some more friends!!
