feeling: tired and a little crappy
where am i?: winter seminar. i sat down too long on my bed and talked to Megan so i can't make it back up to hospitality. i'm a lame-o i know.
just a heads up.. this blog will be totally about my son!!
as every mother will tell you, their child is the smartest and cutest.... ever! so i will begin by saying just that!! Ethan = cutest and smartest!!
we've always sang ABC's to Ethan since he was little and a little while after he turned one he pretty much was able to sing it himself. along with that we've also been counting with him and helping him learn his numbers. he's gotten colors down fairly well by now and he knows every freaking truck known to man!!
but just in the last few months he's really gotten all of these things down very very well! he can now sing the entire alphabet on his own. and he can count to 11 and to 20 with a little help! he's started putting longer and fuller sentences together and his colors are pretty solid!
i'm always amazed with him and with what he learns.... sometimes its too much for him and it just gets him in trouble... but learning none the less.
the other night we ate dinner with my parents and he put his hands together to pray and while we were saying the prayer he was jibbering the words with us.
then he puts his hand up-as to start making the sign of the cross- and says "Amen". i almost cried.
he catches on to things so quickly and as a 2 year old NEVER forgets things like trucks or busses or a forklift. its random, but he remembers every time we drive by!
he's recently gotten excited about schools. when we drive by West i've told him twice that it's "Naynay's school" (Daniel's school), and now whenever we drive by he tells me whos school it is. also that he wants to GO to school.... i told him he'll learn about numbers and letters and colors and animals.... oh and dinosarus. and he will tell ANYONE that'll listen that when he goes to school THATs what he'll learn!!
i just wanted to share how totally proud i am and also amazed, every day, at how much information he can retain in his mind! he's just a flat out amazing kid. i'm incredibly lucky in every aspect when it comes to him. sure sure, i want to scream at him sometimes... but he's a boy and he takes after his dad. what can you do!
okay, i need to sleep. i'm in DM until Tuesday so i'll have a bed to myself until then! it'll be wierd to not wake up to a tiny had on my face... or feet in my ribs!
i'll miss every second!!

such is life
doing: at work. trying to decide the next most important thing on my endless list.
feeling: like crap! it just hit me like 20 minutes ago, the aches the pains, how crappy is that?! wheres my boss and his zicam when i need it?
listening to: nothing. i'm thinking about watching a show online.. but i haven't gotten around to it just yet.
well today i've been working on getting our Club Wrestling orders finished up. there are 2 orders being sent to the lab right now and i still have to design trader cards for 13 kids!!! that's the most, i think, that we've ever had order traders! my computers have been running slow today so the wrestling is pretty much the only thing i've accomplished. ah well... theres always next week right?
speaking of next week. next week and the following week is going to be crazy. we are wanting to sell all of Al's old negs so next week we get to start pulling them down from storage! yippee.... then we have to find tables and space and make signs and all that other stuff that goes along with a sale! i'm kind of excited, because it will make me feel like we're actually DOING something! especially since my boss thinks that we're going to turn that back room into our office... we need to get it cleaned out! on top of that i thought that it would be a good idea if we also sold our old display prints that we don't need. i'm thinking that every February we will have a display sale. that way old prints wont get piled up in the back room, people will get their display stuff at a reasonable price, and we can always use a little money in February!! i hope that people flock to this like i'm thinking they will!
i need to post it on our blog.....
other than that work has been good. we're slow right now which is FABulous!! i don't feel rushed for anything. i'm actually a bit behind on stuff.. but i'm getting work done... eventually! we had a wedding show in DM last Sunday and another one in Pella this Sunday. last weeks went pretty well. we haven't had any calls from it like we were hoping for.. but its only been a week. Jess is coming to help me out with this weeks. Jeff's in CA golfing.... kick him right?! it'll be fun! plus we get to sample good food and cake! aahhh cake!!
well it's almost 3 and i should start on something else. its hard to be motivated to work when no one is here telling me i have to! i might be going home early tonight.... yeah i most likely will!!
have a good weekend! stay warm... yeay for being in the 30s this weekend!!! (its sad but its true....)

feeling: worn out!
listening to: the radio, lazer 103.3. it was awesome this morning but then people started requesting stuff and it sort of tapered off. Nickelback is the big request... like we can't go ONE hour without hearing it! come on!
my photoshop just closed on me... so in order to not throw things i will be blogging to take a break!!
this week has been one for the books. after a LONG-too long-holiday break i was SOSO ready to get back to work! but then tuesday came, people called, people griped, things didn't get done, things got missed...... the list goes on and on. needless to say but lunch i was ready for another break!
on another wonderful note, my babysitters that have already been gone for a week have been gone all of this week as well. awesome..... so i've had to ask my mom every night to watch Ethan. and since he's nowhere NEAR his usual schedule he's been a bit of a handful., so i feel bad. but what can you do when it's 4:30 the night before? who can you call when your sitter says they'll be gone yet ANOTHER day!? he's finally getting back in the groove of things, hopefully his nap was actually closer to his nap time today. he slept through the WHOLE night (he hasnt done that for a couple weeks) last night, he slept in our bed... but that's a whole nother issue. he usually wakes up at least once, if not twice, to ask for juice. damn juice! he woke up at a normal time this morning and was happy! took a shower and had breakfast all before we left the house! thats a new one too for us! i hope i hope i hope that we can get him back on track soon. he needs his normality as much as the rest of us!
Matthew's birthday was the 6th, tuesday, we went to my parents house to eat dinner. my mom made him cheesecake that he LOVES, so he was happy! i could not think of anything to get for him!! so i'm going to get him something later, when i know and when we have some more money! that kid is so hard to buy for! i just never know!
Matt's also started into tax season. they are working until 5 this week and next week until 6 and also Saturdays. he said he's had a steady flow of work, so that's good! hopefully it'll stay steady and not become overwhelming!
this is our wedding show month. we have the Des Moines show on Sunday and then the Pella show next sunday. we've already taken a ton of calls and emails about dates! we'd be full already if everyone that's called had booked! its crazy! so we're hoping to get to our quota of 25 weddings for the year soon! i do like wedding shows, they are fun.. as long as people keep coming to talk to us! there is always that lul where people just walk by and look at you! plus i get to walk around and eat good food and good cake!! aahhh cake!! i love it!
well, i'm going to open my photoshop back up and hope that we get along...... my eyes are droopy, i wish i could take a nap for an hour or so. UGH, it's only 3!?!?!? i was sure it was later! suck!
