feeling: TIRED!

i'm going to apologize in advance because i'm sure this will be full of misspellings. my eyes are crossing because i have such a headache! i'm trying to work but i needed a break!
Christmas. wow. we were crazy busy for 3 days straight! Ethan had a bit of a mishap at the DeHaan house on Christmas Eve. it involved running with a firetruck and ended in 2 battle wounds, one of wich will hopefully NOT turn into a scar! Ethan opened so many presents i'm sure his head was spinning! he got some great things that he just loves! matt and i were a little more low key. we got a few good things, money, giftcards, ect. all in all it was an excellent holiday!
Birthday. my birthday was yesterday! wooo for 26! i went to church in the morning, alone. my boys wanted to stay at home. then we all met at Pizza Hut(of course) for lunch. i got to see Nate Ethell, he's in Iowa for a week-ish and his family was at the Hut too! it was great to see him! and so random! i love randoms!
then i packed myself up and headed to Des Moines for some well deserved shopping! i went to a couple places that i dont usually go. didn't find much of what i was looking for... but i did find! there were some good sales too so it was a good trip! after i got home i fed Ethan and we took him to my parents casa. he hung out with Papa and Uncle Ben(who was sickly so i dont think they hung out too much!) and we went to celebrate at mexican! we met Bri Guy and his mom, my Mom, Ann, John Schmaltz and-suprisingly- Andrew Larson there! it was so fun! and a random group too! not usually who we all get together with but it was great! i had wwaayy too much tequila! but it was the really really good stuff, so NO HANGOVER!!
we hung out for a couple hours and then everyone collectivly decided that i needed to go to bed! i laughed at matt for a good half hour and then passed out hard!
today i simply have a headache. i actually got up this morning and made a good breakfast! it was yummy! i need to start doing that more!
not much else is going on. New Years looks like its going to be a quiet one. we can't find a sitter so i think we'll just hang out and watch a movie or two, get pizza and call it a night. matt and i have never been huge on the "staying up until midnight" thing... so we pry won't!! hopefully we'll be able to find something to do that won't make us out to be too totally lame! ah well, such is life!
i must go work some more. i want to finish a bunch of orders so my bin will be EMPTY! that will be a wonderful birthday present!!

i'm listening for the sound of your voice

feeling: DAMN COLD!
i'm getting pretty sick of not having internet at my house. i'm doing suprisingly without cable, but no internet is a killer. you never realize just how much and often you use it until you can't anymore! like when i'm bored watching yet another hour of football on a sunday i think of a million things that i'd like to do online... but can't! might have to talk to Matty about that.
Ethan and i are just hanging out at my parents house this morning. my car needed an oil change... about 3 months ago. since we didnt have any money matt said he'd do it himself. well now its 3 months later, he hasn't done it, and i'm afraid my car will die at any second from lack of oil. so he finally gave up the $30 and i'm having it changed. hopefully they'll call me soon because i do have a few things at home that i'd like to get done today.
sometimes i wish i worked on mondays just for the simple fact that i'd have my day already planned out. i'm pretty much caught up on laundry and thats usually what i do on mondays. but i DO have a batch of sugar cookie dough in the fridge that's dying to be made! i'll be doing that during nap time! yyuummyyy!!
matt and i are going to finish our Christmas shopping tonight. the saddest part of our holiday season is that we can buy the majority of our presents at wal mart. sad sad sad..... oh well, at least we know it'll be semi-cheaper right!?
matt's sister heather will be home this weekend! that'll be fun because i dont think i've seen her for over a year! also this weekend starts our official holiday season. we go to Panama for the Croghan Christmas sunday, Gma Darlenen's for the Russell Christmas Wednesday (i think) then like 3 more christmas' including the actual day! good times. oh yeah, then its my BIRTHDAY!! woot woot!
i'm getting antsy, i hate not having a car.
i should go relieve Ben from reading endless books to Ethan! poor guy! got woken up by Ethan and then is reading to him! such is the life of being Uncle!!

"i walked a thousand miles...."
two in two days?! how about that!
i just wanted to write about my dream last night because its harder for me to talk about it than it is to write about it. i dreamt about my Grandpa last night. he died when i was a Jr.? so its been quite a few years. but i'm working on setting up a blog site for my family so that we can all keep in touch easier-in my head this is a great idea... we'll see though. so i know thats where it came from, but we were at the farm and he was there-his hair was wild and he was walking with a cane, but it was still him! and he was telling some of us grandkids about the side of this barn that my dad and his brothers and sisters had written on. and i just stared at him and kept thinking "remember everything he says" and crying (just like im crying now). i have NO idea what he said to me in the dream, but i woke up happy!
i have an appointment coming in soon so i need to get ready for it! its a bitty baby! i hope shes good! :)

i've been MIA for awhile, and for good reason. i've been SO busy with work that its not even funny! i've made over 40 Christmas Cards this year not to mention working on orders and albums and all that other stuff! its been a bit crazy around here! but finally this week i feel like we are caught up! i can breath again!!!
so whats been happening? Thanksgiving was a couple weeks ago and it was wonderful! we went to my in-laws for lunch and i think i went back 3 times to get just a little more of soemthing! it was good to just sit and relax and EAT! around 5 or 6 we finally left (yeah, we hang out with our parents!) and we went over to MY parents house! my aunt and uncle and cousin were up from MO so i wanted to have some time with them! Ethan was elated that both of his uncles were home AND cousin Eric! he wouldn't stop talking about them! he actually still asks if Eric is at my parents house!
after Thanksgiving its just been a whirlwind of days. i can't even remember half of the things that happened..... i might need to start taking that herb that helps you remember things.... my short term memory is shot. all the days run together!
today is 2 weeks until Christmas and i'm NOT ready for it! i still have presents to get in order and cards to address and send. and treats to make!! i need a baking day! i'd really enjoy that! too much to do... too much to remember!!! aahhh!!!
tomorrow night we have our Designer Images holiday party! we're going to eat at Court Avenue Brewery, go ice skating(yeah that'll be funny), and then go hang out at IN Play, or All Play, whatever it is!
Saturday night is the Donald W Croghan holiday party! we are going to eat steak, at Johnny's i think. it'll be good whereever we go! and then i'm not sure what were going to do. we talked about the dueling piano bar, but we might just end up at the mall for cheesecake or ice cream! my daddy likes his sweets, and i do not disagree with him!!
Sunday i will hopefully get to relax a bit! Jess and i are planning to go see Twilight!!! YYEEAAAYY! Kville matinee is $3! best price ever! i'm excited to see it again!
i thought i had a lot more to write, but i guess i don't. llaammee!!
OH, i took pictures of Shannon when she was home for Thanksgiving! I posted some of them on my facebook Designer Images page! they turned out great! (i hope you like them Shan! and i promise i'll get them online for you!!)
